Holy Week in Cainscross & Selsley



We believe in a full and rich diet of worship here, so Holy Week 2010 looks rather like this.......

Palm Sunday, 28th March
8.00 Holy Communion (traditional language), St Matthew's
9.30 All Age Communion (meet at St Matthew's School for procession to church at 9.20, St Matthew's
6.30 A Taize service using the Experience Easter stations, St Matthew's.

Monday 29th
< Cashes Green School visit to Experience Easter 9.00 - 3.00.
6.00 A priest will be available for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) in the Lady Chapel, St Matthew's
7.30 A reflective Eucharist from the Iona Community, St Matthew's.

Tuesday 30th
7.30 Agape Supper at All Saints, Selsley

Wednesday 31st
10.00 Holy Communion
7.30   Tenebrae: a service of readings, music & silence as we draw closer to the Passion

Maundy Thursday
7.30    Eucharist of the Lord's Supper, with foot washing, stripping the altar and the Maundy Watch. St Matthew's church will be open until at least 10.00, to enable us to "watch for just one hour" with Our Lord

Good Friday
10.00 "At the foot of the cross" - family activities & reflections on the Passion, Selsley Scout H.Q., procession with the cross to All Saints, and then up to plant the cross on Selsley Common, - followed by Hot Cross buns at All Saints.
2.00  The Last Hour at the Cross, St Matthew's.

Holy Saturday
9.30 Community Spring Cleaning, St Matthew's.
8.00 The Easter Vigil & Service of Light, with Holy Baptism - St Matthew's.
followed by fireworks & festive refreshments.

Easter Sunday
8.00 Holy Communion (traditional language), St Matthew's.
9.30 All Age Communion, St Matthew's.
